About Overlooked Foundation
Overlooked Foundation was created in response to the growing gap between emergency disaster relief and long-term recovery.
As communities rebuild, many survivors are left navigating insurance delays, financial strain, and prolonged displacement without support. The foundation exists to address that overlooked phase of recovery.
The organization operates with a survivor-first mindset, prioritizing direct impact, transparency, and responsible stewardship of funds.
On January 7, 2025, the fire didn’t just take a structure. It took my home of 30 years and my first home of 10 years. It took my elementary school, my high school, the markets where I shopped, and every street I ever knew.
When the smoke cleared, I realized I hadn't just lost my things, I had lost my identity. I lost who I was, and I became Overlooked.
I founded this organization to ensure no one else feels that way. We are here to prove that while fire can take our history, it cannot take our future.
